Sample 4-day General Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Paris. We will propose a restaurant for a light lunch near the hotel. After lunch we suggest a stroll in an historic quarter of Paris, including visit to a public garden, an historic site, and a popular street market.

Day 2
For your first full day in Paris, we recommend a stroll to view one of the grandest public gardens of the city, with spectacular views of Paris from its esplanade. Our itinerary will take you along one of the city's most beautiful boulevards. After lunch, you will continue to explore this area. We will give you recommendations for visits to public monuments.

Day 3
Today's itinerary will focus on an area where gourmet food shops abound. Two spectacular monuments that visitors to Paris should not miss are located here. After lunch, you will continue exploration of the area.

Day 4
On your last full day in Paris, our itinerary will guide you to the more interesting "off-the-beaten-path" spots away from the crowds. In the morning, you will stroll through a residential area where you will see several examples of buildings decorated in the Art Nouveau style. In the afternoon, visit the charming "passages of Paris" as well as a beautiful garden hidden away from the view of tourists strolling by.

Sample 4-Day Self-guided Gourmet Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Paris. After checking into your hotel, you will spend a leisurely afternoon strolling down one of Paris' most famous market streets. Dinner will be at an off-the-beaten-path restaurant for a sumptuous wine-pairing meal.

Day 2
The morning will be spent in a cooking class in which you actively participate in the preparation of a three-course meal. Afterwards, you will sit down with your fellow students and enjoy the food that you have just prepared. In the afternoon, browse culinary shops where you can purchase the best of French cookware, kitchen utensils, and tableware.

Day 3
Visit Paris' "Epicurean Quarter", an area that is replete with boutiques specializing in fresh and packaged foods, regional specialties, and wines and spirits. This visit may be self-guided or you may elect to ask for a guide to accompany you. After lunch, visit a major gourmet grocer in an adjacent neighborhood.

Day 4
In the morning, you will take a walk in the very heart of Paris, where you will visit a cheese shop that ages its products in a 17th century cellar on the premises, as well as other gourmet boutiques. After lunch, stroll past historic gardens and monuments while visiting some of Paris' time-honored pastry, chocolate, coffee and tea vendors.

Sample 4-day Afro-centric Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Paris. We suggest that you acquaint yourself with the neighborhood around your hotel. After lunch we recommend a stroll in an historic quarter of Paris, including a street where you can experience African shopping, food, art and nightlife.

Day 2
Visit the Left Bank, where Richard Wright, James Baldwin, and other African-American writers lived. Stroll past the famous Sorbonne, down major boulevards, and through one of Paris' most beautiful gardens. Several shopping locations for clothes, cosmetics, interior design goods and more are found in the vicinity.

Day 3
Visit the neighborhood of the Eiffel Tower and stroll down the Champs Elysées. During today's walk, you will experience all the glamour of Paris while learning of Black-owned restaurants and nightclubs, art exhibits featuring African-American works, gospel concerts and other aspects of African/Diaspora history and contemporary life.

Day 4
Appreciate the Louvre courtyard and the Tuileries Garden from an Afro-centric perspective. Then walk up one of Paris' most fashionable thoroughfares, visiting designer boutiques such as Prada, Sonia Rykiel and Dior while learning about the activities of African Americans such as Quincy Jones and designer Patrick Kelly.
