What is Discover Paris!^®?
Discover Paris!^® was created out of our love for Paris and our desire to explore the city and all the wonders it holds. It is our wish to share our experiences with those who are looking for a unique Paris visit. We provide fully customized itineraries that introduce you to the best that Paris has to offer according to your personal interests and the travel experience that you seek. The length of our itineraries range from a single afternoon to full travel planning for several days.

How is Discover Paris!^® different from other travel services?
If your ideal Paris vacation includes chaperoned group travel to the major tourist attractions and sites, Discover Paris!^® is not the service for you. We pride ourselves on offering individual, tailor-made travel itineraries based on our discussions with you as well as your responses to our detailed Travel Planning Questionnaire.

Because we have lived and worked in Paris for the past 30+ years, we are able to offer you insider tips, personal recommendations and the most up-to-date information other travel companies simply do not have access to. Additionally, we personally visit and sample every restaurant, hotel and venue included in a Discover Paris!^® itinerary to ensure that the quality of the experience and the service you receive meet our rigorous standards.

Please note that Discover Paris!^® does not coordinate your travel to and from France. While we can book a chauffeured vehicle to meet you at the airport or train station, your actual airline reservations and other transportation arrangements are not part of our service.

How do I know if Discover Paris!^® is the right travel planner for me?
We cater to frequent Paris visitors and first-timers alike. Our clients are typically looking for an independent, one-of-a-kind itinerary that takes their interests, personal style and level of experience into account. They often do not have the time to dedicate the necessary research or planning to this type of trip and rely upon our expertise and degree of intimacy with Paris to plan a vacation rich in experiences. In addition to making stops at well-known Paris attractions, clients appreciate the occasional divergence off the beaten track to visit more obscure sites and be a part of the “real” Parisian action.

What services does Discover Paris!^® provide?
Our services range from activities for a single afternoon to several days of comprehensive travel planning. The itineraries are generally divided among those that are self-guided, such as our themed Discover Paris!^® Walks or visits to sites and neighborhoods made famous by literature and historic events, and those that are lead by a private guide affiliated with our company. We also offer premium services such as Wine Adventures, Photography and Cooking Classes.

Our premier service, Complete Travel Planning, accommodates your full trip requirements by including hotel and restaurant recommendations and bookings with your personalized itinerary. As a reminder, Discover Paris!^® does not handle your travel arrangements to and from France.

How does Discover Paris! ® create my personalized itinerary?
The dialogue begins as soon as you make contact with us. The first step is to complete our no-obligation Travel Planning Questionnaire with as much detail as possible. This helps us better understand your travel expectations, reason for your trip and areas of interest to be considered for inclusion in your itinerary. Ideally, you would submit the completed questionnaire to us at least 6 weeks before your date of departure.

Once we have received your completed questionnaire, a member of our staff will start custom-designing your itinerary. The research for the itinerary will include a review of in-house resources and discussions with the Discover Paris!^® team as well as trips into the field to see new attractions, venues or exhibits that may be suitable for your trip. If your area of interest is one that we have not explored previously, we will investigate the subject thoroughly before making some initial recommendations to you.

As we firm up your itinerary, we will be back in touch to discuss the various options to be included in your trip. The more information we have from you, the better we are able to satisfy your travel objectives; consequently, you may hear from us on multiple occasions.

Once we have finalized the itinerary, we will send you a detailed document outlining our proposed activities for your stay in Paris. It will include general information about Paris, practical and historical information about all sites that you will be visiting, instructions on how to access these sites, and suggestions about the timing of such visits (day and hour). Little-known facts about the areas visited will also be included in the text. Similar information is supplied regarding the scheduled activities you will be participating in such as cooking classes, wine tasting, art classes, etc.

Is Discover Paris!^® able to create an itinerary based on any theme or request that I can think up?
We always will do our best to accommodate your needs and personal area(s) of interest, but certainly some requests are outside our scope or capabilities.

Our areas of expertise are many and varied. During our own explorations in Paris, we have become acquainted with some of the finest experts in the field who will introduce you to those things that are intrinsically linked to the city such as art, photography or wine. For those travelers who share our personal interests such as the history of Paris, architecture, literature, African-American culture and history in Paris, fine dining and other gastronomic pursuits, we are proud to showcase our knowledge of these themes in a number of our itineraries.

All activities that we propose are subject to the availability of the services/guides/activities/etc. in question. Discover Paris! collaborates with several suppliers of services, including hotel accommodations. We cannot be held responsible for any negligent or willful act or failure to act of any such supplier or of any other third party over whom Discover Paris! has no control.

Under what circumstances would Discover Paris!^® decline to serve a potential client?
We reserve the right to decline service to clients who do not submit a completed travel questionnaire to us at least six weeks prior to their desired departure date.

What about travel risks?
The client should be aware of any travel risks that might be encountered in France or while traveling to or from France, including possible acts of terrorism. Discover Paris! cannot be held responsible for any accidents, mishaps, casualties, or other misfortunes that might occur.

What about travel/medical insurance?
Travelers are strongly advised to obtain their own travel/medical insurance prior to departure for Paris.
